Who replaces Mark Noble?
Im not talking about who replaces him as captain, simply who replaces him in the centre midfield alongside Rice.

Noble will be 33 years old in May so its time to think about a replacement.

Many have said the centre midfield has been neglected through the years and I agree with that. Now with Obiang and before him Kouyate gone surely its time to invest in that area.

The usual sources on Twitter are saying not much will be spent in January, maybe a couple of loans they say but El Pel doesnt like loans so I dont expect anything to happen until the summer.

So all you scouting experts on here who should we go for to replace Noble and slot in alongside Rice in the centre of midfield?

well, obviously not FdJ, but if you check that video...what a beauty! I'd love us to have someone with similar passing and composure in that position. I can dream!

Really wished we got Mooy. Lovely player. Would love Dacoure too.

Seems out recruitment doesnt much value that type of player though. Too much focus on the technical, which is also necessary, but this league needs both that and grafters/workhorses.

Our central midfield is just too ponderous these days. We need a Tielmans type player along side Rice.

"?? Why preferably black?"

You only have to look at the influence of Nigerian legend Roy Keane or Liberia's Lothar Matthaus. Shamone, muthafuckas.

Sander Berge, Gent
Young promising defensive midfielder. Tall but a bit slow. Not sure he would take the PL level atm. maybe In a couple of years

I think the club will pay out a lot of money to replace Noble.

Probably a free transfer who used to be good about 3 years ago.

We will probably end up with someone like James Milner well past their prime or of course injury prone!!!

I'd like a strong engine, box to box midfielder who can cover a lot of ground.

People are moaning about our scouting methods and someone suggests FM2019. You couldn't make it up.

Sander Berg, at Genk I think.

Would love Kessie but can see him going to a big club.

Re: Who replaces Mark Noble?
We need a Scott Parker type right now let alone when Noble’s legs give up.

We should have paid the extra 3 million and bought John Fleck last January,Sullivan wouldn’t match the valuation.

Appearantly Pellegrini wanted to sign Lobotka in the summer but he was deemed too expensive by the owners

Re: Who replaces Mark Noble?
He's still by far out best midfielder. Noble has a good game, the team plays well. We should have invested in the summer though, it was glaringly obvious. Why this wasn't obvious to Pellegrini/dildos is unclear. Spunked it on Fornals who looks so far to be absolutely terrible. Classic West Ham.

Re: Who replaces Mark Noble?
Kessie was one we were linked with int he summer big strong box to box Ivorian from AC Milan who are apparently in a bit of a financial crisis at the moment.

Have seen several rumour mill pieces linking him with a move to Wolves in january though.

Re: Who replaces Mark Noble?
Mark Noble is fine if we want to stay mid table and never have a chance of winning anything. If we really want to push on then we need an upgrade. Same as our fullbacks. But our owners go half-arsed in the transfer window and try to make do with what they have. Not only that but they also reward mediocre players with massive wages.

It isn’t easy to find the right midfielder, but definitely not impossible. And Sissoko and Kouyate are definitely not the answers.

Re: Who replaces Mark Noble?
Wheres he gone then?

He played badly on Satuday, probably one of his worst ever performances actually but he has been vital this season so far.

Facts remain, if he plays well - the whole team does. He doesn't play well every single week...if he did he would have gone about 8 years ago.
